| Hey all,
Here's an update. I know you have all been waiting patiently. Anyway, classes have started and they are ok. I am slowly getting burned out on school. I think most of it has to do with working nearly full-time. I feel tired very often during the day, and don't have much energy. I am pretty sure I will have to start eating better and taking vitamins.
Tonight is the start of the forensics season. I have not got as much accomplished as I had hoped I would. We have 5 extempers, counting me, which should make filing easier. Two of them are new to our system, so we are having an orientation meeting tonight. I was going to go to a concert this weekend in KC, but decided to stay home instead. At first I was really sad because I wanted to see some of the bands, but gas is so expensive and the tickets would have been $90 all together. It will do me good to stay home and clean and write speeches.
Our men's softball team won last night. For mostly speakers and debaters we played well. I actually pitched a decent game. I made them hit lots of fly balls so the outfielders could make the plays. In slowpitch men's softball the objective moves from striking people out to getting them to hit pop-flies. I caught a ball that was hit directly back at me. My heart was racing and I basically just put my glove up to protect my chest and the ball happened to go in. I think everybody had a good time, and the fans seemed to enjoy the game, so that makes me happy.
Well I had better get back to filing. Nobody comes to work with me at tutoring. *Sadness*
God Bless,

| Right now I am listening to some bizzare "smooth beats" radio station
that is more like music I would associate running away from somebody in
the woods, or the stupid dog and strange guy in the car on my midnight
run through Manhattan's ghetto. Strangely though the feeling is
good. The following poetry is inspired by this music.
Break me out of the glass cube I am in.
Free my heart from the inner rage.
Holding back or giving in, it can't matter because nobody wins.
The day is short so at night we just turn the page.
The page, the page is blank with no emotion.
Give me thoughts, give me words
Or am I a grain of sand in the ocean?
Flying free just like the birds
Pull me away, I can't hold on.
The cage, the cage that I am in
Makes me look like I'm some con.
Oh to give in to the sin, and maybe I can win.
The sky is dark and presses close.
The night has come and reaches out
To offer the glass, one last toast.
Falling deeper only one last shout,
Somebody pull me up and help me out.
Strange I know, but so is this music... hmmm. Random thoughts, have a good night all.

| It was a long night last night. I ended up staying up until
4:30AM playing cards with the Cool Cats. That makes being to work
at 8AM rough, but hey I am use to it from the school year. I have
drawn the layout for the bookcase I am going to build. I am
getting the lumber and tools this weekend and should have most of it
done by the end of the weekend. I am so pumped about this
project. I love working with wood, and someday I will build my
own house. This whole project is going to cost under $150 and I
will have power tools when I am done and a sweet bookcase. Why
pay $100 for a pressed wood, thrown together bookcase when I can have a
real wood bookcase that is 4 times as large for just a little more?
In other news I am trying to get to two concerts before school
starts. Def Leppard is in concert with Bryan Adams at KC at the
begining of August (I am trying to shuffle my work schedule so I can
go, I love Def Leppard). Probably the cooler concert will be Ben
Folds (I am definately going to that one). I am hoping some other
people will go with me... *hint, hint* Bobby and Erika.
Well it is official, my brother is engaged. He just turned 20 and
is going to get married. His finance is cool though, so I am
happy for them. I gave him some critical advice though, "Let
Janell plan the wedding." Normally it is just a good practice for
the woman to do this, but even more so in his case. He told me he
didn't see what took so long in planning weddings, "It is just like
Prom, you get a tux and a dress." Oh boy! The problem with this
is, now when I go home even more people than usual will ask me if I am
married or getting married yet. What ever happened to going to
college and doing crazy things like skydiving or buying a
motorcycle? On that note I have pretty much given up
on the motorcycle, but that just means that I am going to get a
Corvette Sting Ray (I may get the motorcycle after law school). I
think I am going to start shopping now for the Sting Ray. I
should probably wait until I turn 25 becuase I take my Oldsmobile up to
90 right now, what is going to happen when I have a car that likes
going that fast and faster? Oh insurance could get expensive.
Well everybody, I should probably get back to work and try to do
something to keep me awake. I will be glad when summer is
over. I miss all of my forensics friends soo much. I can't
wait until Friday to help Bobby and Erika move, I haven't seen them in
a few weeks. I am also writing a PA this weekend and the Prose is
nearly done as well. I feel like this is our year to win it all,
but it starts now in making that dream a reality. Take care all
and God Bless!

| Good day everybody. I went to watch War of the Worlds last night. It was a good movie, but probably not $7.50 worth of goodness. I really have not seen a great "scary" movie in a long time. To be a scary movie for me it has to be believable. War of the Worlds did cause certain people that went with us to jump, but it was a lot of fun.
JD comes today, and the apartment looks like it did a week ago. I think if there was an award for good intentions I would master that, but needless to say I now have to clean my bathroom and kitchen in 50 min. Now, most would say this sounds impossible, but when my back is against the wall I get down to it. I would hazard to guess that I will put Mr. Clean to shame for those 50 minutes.
Well it is about time for Mr. Clean to go into action. Have a great day everybody.

| Two in a row... what is going on here. Happy 4th of July
everybody. I have been unproductive for the most part. I
have started transfering all of my casettes to CDs. I am suppose
to clean the apartment so JD doesn't get scared and decide not to live
here this fall.
I am going to watch fireworks tonight with my awesome friend Meghan and
her family. If you pick the right spot in Manhattan you can see
about 5 shows at once.
Tomorrow starts the intensive training for the 10-mile run the 23rd of
this month. You may be asking, "Kevin why didn't you start
earlier." The simple answer is I am fairly lazy or busy which can
be a bad combination. Tomorrow ends the excuses though, it is
time to turn this body into a marathon machine. I am so pumped
about this marathon thing next spring. You will probably get sick
of me talking about it, but hey then again this is my journal.
Ugh, July is almost over and my forensics preparedness is
lacking. I almost have my prose cut, and I should probably get my
persuasion written. Maybe that will be my project for this
week. I am starting to get the forensics itch. It makes me
happy.
Well I am off to be productive, have a happy and safe holiday.
God Bless
